How to Request Location Permission in Android Java
This code can be added in an activity to request user permission to turn on location services in android, it has been tested and working well on android marshmallow and should work on most android versions
First, you may need to set this Location permissions in android manifest file:
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION"/>
Then, in your activity java file, add these codes below oncreate method:
ActivityCompat.requestPermissions(this, new String[]{ Manifest.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, Manifest.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION }, 0); @Override public void onGeolocationPermissionsShowPrompt(String origin, android.webkit.GeolocationPermissions.Callback callback) { Log.d("Location", "callback"); callback.invoke(origin, true, false); }
This is it, whenever the activity is opened, it should ask user permission now to access Location services.
